Gold sees common stocks, top 25. Platinum adds micro caps, top 50. Diamond sees every category, including OTC penny and sub-penny stocks, top 100. Lists rank market activity; they are not recommendations to buy or sell.

How grades and market tiers work

Grade (0–100). Every stock starts at 50. Momentum adds or subtracts up to 20 points for today's percentage change. Trend adds or subtracts up to 20 points for where the price sits in its recent trading range. Volume confirmation adds or subtracts up to 10 points when volume is above or below average in the direction of the move.

Mary-Brenda Akoda and GenScan AI

Nigerian AI researcher and software engineer Mary-Brenda Akoda has won the 2026 Nigeria Prize for Science and Innovation, worth $100,000, for GenScan AI. Her software rebuilds MRI images from far less scan data, cutting scan time by up to 90% on existing machines, with no new hardware required.

Why it matters: MRI scanners are expensive and scarce in much of the world, and long scans mean long waiting lists. Software that lets each machine see many more patients could widen access to imaging and change the economics of hospital equipment, a space worth watching across medical-device and health-AI companies.

Akoda's entry was chosen from a record 237 submissions, and she is the first woman and first millennial to win the prize on her own. The award will be presented on October 9, 2026.

    The son of an IBM employee and shareholder, our founder began researching stocks as a boy in 1982 and made his first investment in 1996. Three decades of personal investing, including turning $1,000 into nearly $1.4 million in the early 2000s, taught him how much timely information matters. Since 2013 he has led the research, design and vision behind the Preferred Financial Strategies Group platform.

    Our story

    It started with a boy, his father and a few shares of IBM.

    1. 1982

      A father, a son and shares of IBM

      In 1982, a young boy noticed something about his father. Dad worked for IBM, and he also owned a piece of it. The idea that you could own part of a company you believed in lit a spark. The boy wanted to be just like his father, and almost immediately he began researching stocks.

      What started as a child's curiosity grew into something serious and intentional. With the drive of a natural overachiever, he read the best financial periodicals and followed the markets in every medium he could find, always searching for the next great company.

    2. From fashion to finance

      A taste for the finest things

      As a young man, he was a true clothes horse with a passion for high-end fashion. In time, the money that once went to designer labels found a greater purpose: investing.

    3. 1996

      A conversation at the barbershop

      The turning point came in the barbershop, in a conversation with a client everyone called Preacher, a pastor who also worked on Wall Street. Back then, stock prices moved in fractions of a dollar, eighths and sixteenths, and Preacher explained exactly how those fractions translated into a stock's change in price.

      With that understanding, our founder, today our President and CEO, made his first investment, in shares of the New York Bridge Authority. Investments of a few hundred dollars soon grew into investments of thousands, and friends and peers began coming to him for advice.

    4. Reading between the lines

      The information gap

      Good information was never easy to find. There was no internet at home, only a library where computer time was strictly limited. Tips were often misleading, and much of investing came down to reading between the lines.

      That frustration planted the idea behind this company: clearer, more concise information leads to better decisions.

    5. Early 2000s

      The lesson that shaped us

      In the early 2000s, he turned a $1,000 investment into nearly $1.4 million. Despite disciplined conversations about selling before the turn, the stocks were heavily shorted and the millions slipped away before he could sell. The gains he did take were real, and so was the lesson.

      It was a hard lesson in how much timely, reliable information matters, and it set a clear goal: build a state-of-the-art platform that gives every investor the information he wished he'd had.

      The work begins
